The World Health Organization (WHO) launched nine patient safety solutions to reduce the toll of health care-related harm affecting patients worldwide.

Patient Safety Solutions are defined as: "Any system design or intervention that has demonstrated the abilityto prevent or mitigate patient harm stemming from the processes of health care."
